Our  Team Leaders

Laura owns and operates K-9 Country Inn a licensed, boarding and breeding Kennel and Canine training center in New Tecumseth.   Laura is a breeder and trainer of Belgium Malinois, Cane Corso's (with La Villa Corso's).   Laura's lifelong affiliation with dogs and animals has allowed her to compete in obedience, conformation and sports events and has had dogs participate in the St. John Ambulance, service dog for PTSD and Canine Good Citizen programs and PSA.   Laura also ran the ACD rescue for 2006 and 2007 and is still active in training and finding homes for these wonderful animals and also many other rescues.  Laura is a mentor trainer for the ABC Animal Behavior College and a certified Good Neighbour evaluator.
If you have an animal that has been refused at other schools or who is dominant with people or other dogs Laura will work with you to overcome these obstacles.  

Jennifer has been part of the K-9 Country Inn for 7 years and started her assistant trainer career part time in 2011.  Jen is now working full time at the Inn and assisting with training in our Puppy reactive dog and Rally-O obedience classes as well as assisting with our in-home training program and our Board and Train program.  Jen has successfully put Rally-O, Scent detection, dock, and disc titles, on all 3 of her dogs.  Look for Jen in the competitive ring in 2017.  Jen is also pursuing becoming a Rally-O judge for the 2017 competition season!

Ashley Hopkins
Ashley Hopkins has been involved with dogs and training her own dogs for over 13 years. She got her very first dog when she was 6 years old and has never looked back. Ashley has always had a dog in her life. She got her first competitive dog over 8 years ago, Air Austin, a Cattle dog mix who she had rescued from a puppy mill at 6 weeks old. Austin has taken Ashley all over Canada and the States competing in Dock diving, Disc, and some Flyball. She also trains him and has fun in Agility, Herding, and has just started Barn Hunting. Austin has won several awards over the years, became a National and Canadian champion in dock diving and their disciplines. He has been featured in several newspaper articles and sports sections, radio interviews, and just recently featured in National Geographic magazine for their Top Ten Dogs! Ashley also has two other competitive dogs, Ryder, an Australian Shepherd, and Jag, a Dutch Shepherd. Jag at only 2 years old, is Canada's First Elite Champion, Canadian record holder and Champion in Toss, and has an impressive jump of 27'4". Her team of dogs has been proudly sponsored by Big Country Raw, and BIS Supplements (Best in Show).
